Molecular Characterization of Canine Rabies Virus Strains Circulating in Mali

چکیده

Rabies are one of the major zoonoses in Mali. The control this disease is based on use effective diagnostic techniques, management human cases after exposure and medical prophylaxis animals. Diagnosis usually made by detection viral antigen direct immunofluorescence (IF). Due to increasing variability genus Lyssavirus observed, it was found necessary a complementary technique, namely reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). objective present study assess performance IFD RT-PCR for diagnosis animal rabies Mali with view characterizing different strains identified at molecular level (gene virus nucleoprotein N). Thus, analysis forty (40) brain samples from dogs suspected having rabies, revealed 36 positive IFD, i.e. 90% 33 RT-PCR, 82.5.% concordance rate 82.5%. Analysis segment gene (N) showed that viruses circulating belong Africa 2 lineage (Africa 2). Statistical analyzes existence significant difference (P=0.001<0.005) between two techniques. shows usefulness complementarity tests as an alternative confirming rabies.

Molecular Characterization of Canine Rabies Virus, Mali, 2006–2013

We genetically characterized 32 canine rabies viruses isolated in Mali during 2006-2013 and identified 3 subgroups that belonged to the Africa 2 lineage. We also detected subgroup F rabies virus. This information should be useful for development of mass vaccination campaigns for dogs and eventual large-scale control programs in this country.

Diversity of currently circulating rabies virus strains in Croatia.

Sylvatic rabies has been present in Croatia for more than three decades, with the red fox (Vulpes vulpes) as the main reservoir. The present epidemic of sylvatic rabies in Croatia started already in 1977 and in the past ten years the disease has become enzootic in the entire country and thus represents a considerable veterinary and public health threat. A genetic characterization and phylogenet...

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF DIFFERENT RABIES VIRUS STRAINS IN IRAN

Rabies is widespread in all provinces of Iran. This study presents an investigation by a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique for the purpose of rabies diagnosis and also Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) for determination of the type of the rabies virus. In addition, PCR proves to be a powerful tool for molecular epidemiology studies allowing analysis of the infecting strain...

Rabies virus strains circulating in Bhutan: implications for control.

We report a molecular epidemiological study of rabies virus (RABV) strains circulating in animal populations in Bhutan, and investigate potential origins of these viruses. Twenty-three RABV isolates originating from dogs and other domestic animals were characterized by sequencing the partial nucleoprotein (N) gene (395 bp). Phylogenetic analysis was conducted and the Bhutanese isolates were com...

Molecular characterization of Korean rabies virus isolates

The nucleoprotein (N) and glycoprotein (G) of 11 Korean rabies virus (RABV) isolates collected from animals diagnosed with rabies between 2008 and 2009 were subjected to molecular and phylogenetic analyses. Six isolates originated from domestic animals (cattle and dogs) and five were obtained from wild free-ranging raccoon dogs. The similarities in the nucleotide sequences of the N gene among a...
